CHARACTER ANALYSIS:
Making huge deals out of little things, Hana Brightly pretends to see the emotions of inanimate objects, be it an empty can of soda, or the "tails" side of a coin. Believing that almost anyone in the world can feel or be loved, Hana is sometimes too inviting to complete strangers, and often questions their troubles should they look or seem distraught. Her only concern is to make people smile, and if she can make someone smile when they're feeling their most down then, and only then, does she feel the most accomplished. Intense hugging, sometimes referred to as "glomping" is her most preferred choice of showcasing her affection.
Hana Brightly tries her absolute best to look at the lighter side of things. A child at heart, she always held an interest in children's animation, so it was honestly to no one's surprise when she declared her "otaku"-ness to the world, often cosplaying as her favorite characters in public, even outside the genuine comfort of an annual anime convention. "Cosplaying" is the art of wearing a costume of a fictional character and portraying them to the masses, and Hana absolutely loves it. So much so that she writes her own cosplaying blog where she also posts pictures of herself posing in her new costumes titled "Sunshine & Happy Faces."
Her wrestling gear always consists of a plaid skirt, which ends just above her thighs, and matching arm-sleeves, which cut just above her elbows, while the rest of her attire varies depending on her mood. Standing just a modest 5'7," and weighing just below average body weight, Hana isn't physically intimidating, her muscles pretty much non-existent, so she relies on speed and momentum in the ring, often using the ropes for added leverage to hopefully gain the advantage against her usually bigger, better, and stronger opponents.

BIOGRAPHY
Hana Brightly only been an active wrestler since October of 2011, but has always been a fan of the entertainment. Having had a good decade's worth of commentating bedroom warfare between her Japanese dolls and plushies, Hana would imitate the moves seen on television onto/with her toys (and television remotes.) It wasn't until she got invited into an overseas anime convention in England that her real wrestling journey began. Having absolutely no sense of direction, Hana mistakenly found herself a sports gym. Not just any sport's gym, Robbie Scotts Gym. Thinking it was the convention center, Hana was soon pushed into a wrestling orientation class and hasn't turned back since, although not by choice. The gym had a no failure policy where the only means of escape was through death. Not at all athletically gifted, Hana tries her best but the die-hard wrestling experts holds no remorse for her in-ring ability.
Ironically, it would be her journey through the world of professional wrestling that would garner her the most popularity. Whereas before, she was just an odd girl with a cosplaying blog, now she was an just odd girl who had a thirst for violence on the weekends. Well...maybe not a thirst, but the money was decent and now her bruises held much grander stories. Hana was a known klutz all throughout her life and her bruises were often the means of discussion amongst her friends. Instead of saying "Oh, I fell down the stairs again," now it was "So, Ryan Cavallari was teaching me how to perform a DDT and I landed kinda awkwardly on my thigh...look! The bruise is gigantic!" They were like temporary tattoos, and Hana was more than happy to share her experiences with anyone who dared to ask. Over time, she grew to really love the art of professional wrestling and often wished she was athletic enough to perform better moves. Oh well, you just have to work with what you got!
By far, her biggest rival is Kimiko Sakurada. Having met through Robbie Scotts Gym - Kimiko and Hana were their first female students - they garnered a friendship that was unlike anything Hana ever had before. She never big into athletics, so the idea of friendly competition had previously never been an aspect of Hana Brightly's life. While yes, there were competitive cosplayers among her anime convention circles, physical competition was a entirely different level of adrenaline. They pushed one another to bring each other to their limits, and although Kimiko was obviously the superior athlete of the duo, there was always those seconds within their trails where Hana looked to be in the lead and it was during those seconds where Hana would feel her most happiest. It was a feeling she thrived for, and a feeling she often looks back too during her most dire situations. Hana wouldn't physically be where she was today if it wasn't for Kimiko's never-ending drive to better themselves.
Her new found life in professional wrestling hasn't always been in such a smooth ride however. While she did manage to gain friends throughout her journey, Hana was never one to fully sustain her emotions. Her negativity often would get the better of her, especially during moments when she would begin to doubt her place within the wrestling business. Doubting oneself was a constant struggle Hana Brightly had faced throughout her life and still is an attribute of her character to this very day. Her issues with her own gender identity, feeling envious whenever she saw ingenuous qualities in strangers she felt she lacked, and the consistent feeling that she was doing something wrong often plagued her everyday actions. The world of professional wrestling would occasionally intensify those feelings and it was during those days where Hana would feel at her absolute worst. Her ring work would suffer in consequence, not that it wasn't anything to gawk over to begin with, but the crowd would notice her inconsistencies and just eat her alive. Her frustration would carry backstage and unfortunately create enemies in the process.
One such enemy was Chelsea Crossfire, or as she was most commonly referred to, Chel Fire. Being introduced to Hana at an independent show, she labeled her actions backstage as bratty and self-centered. Two qualities that Chel didn't take kind too, especially when her on-screen character portrayed the opposite. She viewed Hana as being "fake" to her fans, showcasing aspects of her personality that weren't genuine to the actual person. Chel Fire prided herself in being...well, herself. The character she played on screen was who she was off of it. If the fans hated her? So what. Her job wasn't to please an audience, and Hana Brightly irked her the wrong way in every conceivable fashion. What made it even more annoying is that they would be booked on the same programs, so there were moments where they had to work together. Despite their clash in personalities their matches rarely suffered from it. They held a chemistry scarcely seen between two competitors and the fans loved it. Chel's hatred for Hana was easily felt by their audience and added an extra dose of reality that other matches may have lacked. Hana Brightly doesn't feel the same way regarding Chel Fire, and follows her on social media, much to the annoyance of the opposite party.
Professional wrestling has provided Hana Brightly opportunities of travel. While she's most active within the west coast territories of the United States, most notably the Pacific Northwest, her ability to garner an audience caught the attention of independent promoters throughout the country. Most notably, the fan's curiosity was a deep influence of her (still) growing popularity within the business. Those that knew of Hana's born identity would tell those that didn't and word would spread like wildfire once her bookings were announced. Wrestling in a new territory has always been a rather frightening experience for Brightly because her fan reactions were never a sure thing. Her bubbly personality may have been contagious but every so often fans would demand perfection from her wrestling ability. Means of perfection that she just couldn't provide despite her training and positive work ethic behind the scenes. Thankfully, her fan reception has generally been positive outside of her base region and she anxiously waits for any chance at a nice change of scenery.
